Student Extern

• Performed problem-based comprehensive primary care eye health examinations on geriatric patients with hearing, visual, and health disabilities.
• Managed ocular diseases including but not limited to ARMD, Glaucoma, Posterior segment retinopathies utilizing Optos Fundus Photography, Cirrus OCT, Humphrey Visual Fields, and TearLab to promote optimum ocular health of anterior and posterior segments.
• Observed blepharoplasty, cataract extractions, and retinal repair surgeries.

Student Extern

• Fit and troubleshot soft and specialty contact lenses for management of refractive errors, myopia control, and keratoconus utilizing multi-focal soft lenses, scleral, RGPs, and Ortho-K lenses.
• Treated and managed Dry Eye syndromes with operation of Lipiscan, Blephex, Lipiflow, and LLLT.
• Performed and interpreted Optos Fundus Photography, and Cirrus OCT to promote optimum ocular health of anterior and posterior segments.

Student Extern

• Treated and managed a high volume of glaucoma, ARMD, pre-op and post-op cataract surgery patients.
• Utilized Cirrus OCT, Humphrey Visual Fields, 4-Mirror Gonioscopy, Pachymetry, and Clarus Fundus photography to monitor and manage glaucoma patients.

Student Intern

• Performed personalized and problem-based comprehensive primary care eye examinations on patients with diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and glaucoma.
• Evaluated and managed patients in primary care, glaucoma, specialty contact lenses, retina, and pediatric services.
• Utilized the SOAP method to develop personalized assessments and plans to address each patient’s ocular and visual complaints and/or needs.
• Fit soft and specialty contact lenses to manage refractive errors, myopia control, and keratoconus.
• Performed community-based school vision screenings and primary care examinations at community health centers.
