Job Description

Our Vision Therapist works with individuals who have vision problems or disabilities. After sufficient training, this person will work one-on-one or with a small group to improve a patient’s functional vision. The therapist must develop and implement therapy programs that help patients improve their visual processing and perception abilities.
Assessing and scoring to diagnose developmental vision problems.
Developing and implementing therapy programs to improve patients’ visual processing and perception abilities.
Conducting vision therapy sessions with patients, including exercises and activities to help them develop and improve their visual skills.
Monitoring patients’ progress and adjusting therapy programs as needed.
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as optometrists, ophthalmologists, and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Educating patients and their families about the benefits of vision therapy
Emphasizing the importance of compliance with therapy programs to patients and parents.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
Reports to a behavioral/developmental optometrist & or Director of Special Services
Responsible for attending weekly vision therapy meetings/trainings
Requires on-the-job education and training, under supervision of optometrist and lead vision therapist

Other requirements:
Help in other areas of the office as needed.
Learns additional skills as necessary to perform techniques and use equipment.
Assists in daily office duties such as: performing eye tests, helping customers choose glasses, or care for contacts in our myopia program.
Works closely with doctor as patient liaison.

Experience in relevant industry is a plus.
Vision Therapy experience is not required.
Willing to train enough to function independently and manage a patient schedule one on one.
Minimum of 2 years college or equivalent coursework preferred.
Excellent references and willing to undergo background check & drug testing.
