Looking for a full time OD with a strong desire to work in a full scope, well established optometric practice.  We practice in Lewistown MT, situated in the geographic center of Montana — and 2 hours from the nearest ophthalmologist.  Our practice has served the community and surrounding area for 60 years. Our providers work directly with our local ER and PCP’s in the community.  It is a very busy practice.  Currently, two senior OD’s work a full time equivalent and will be simultaneously retiring thus allowing a new doc to walk into a pre-loaded full time patient load.  We are a very heavily medical practice with a tremendous amount of disease.  Part of this is due to the demographics in our community of about 7,000 with a two hour draw area.  We routinely see patients from 6mo of age to 100 YO and manage or co-manage all that comes with this variety.  Our office is fully equipped with the latest in diagnostic ophthalmic technology. (Zeiss Cirrus OCTA/Optomap/Keratograph/Marco 5100 phoropters/Zeiss HFA etc). We operate on Compulink EHR. We Employ 14 staff and operate out of 7 fully equipped exam lanes. The local community is primarily agriculture based with many outdoor opportunities ranging from hunting, fishing, hiking, camping and skiing to basketball, volleyball, softball and multiple adult city league sports.   The ideal candidate for this unique opportunity would be ready to hit the ground running in this face-paced, medical-based, full-time patient schedule. This could be in the form of an OD with experience, residency training, or a new grad with the necessary ambition. A desire to work and live in a “rural” community is also an important prerequisite, as our local amenities do not include large box stores, etc. Compensation is production based with health, 401K, continuing education stipend, professional association dues , and malpractice.
