Job Description

Conestoga Eye seeking a licensed Optometrist to join our team in our Lancaster, PA and Hershey, PA locations. Candidates seeking full time or part time work may apply.

Conestoga Eye is a heavily medical-based practice with Ophthalmologists specializing in Eye Plastics and Pediatric Ophthalmology. The Optometrist will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye and vision care services to patients of all ages in a clinical setting and may also be required to work occasional evenings or weekends, depending on the needs of the practice. The ideal candidate would be interested in anterior surface disease, blepharitis, dry eye as well as pediatrics with interest or experience in following amblyopia. There is also opportunity to participate in and conduct research (PEDIG and commercial studies in Pediatric ophthalmology, dry eye, eyelid etc).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive eye exams to diagnose vision problems and eye diseases
  • Prescribe corrective lenses and other treatments as necessary
  • Educate patients on proper eye care and preventative measures
  • Previous experience as an optician is preferred
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and primary care physicians, to provide comprehensive care
  • Stay current with advances in optometry and vision care through continuing education and professional development
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in optometry practice
  • Provide exceptional patient care and customer service

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry school
  • Current state optometry license
  • Completed subspeciality fellowship preferred
  • Previous experience in Pediatrics or Glaucoma care preferred
  • Strong diagnostic and treatment skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Dedication to providing exceptional patient care

Conestoga Eye offers competitive compensation and benefits packages, including health insurance, retirement savings plans, CME allotment, and paid time off. No weekends. Office hours 9-5 Mon-Fri.
